I think we've all carried a bit more than we planned on our motorcycles, at one time or another. A parcel which we got at the post office, something we bought at the spur of the moment, etc and then had to carry home on the motorcycle....
Well, we are nothing compared to Ricardo Kuhn, master motorcycle cargo transporter. Ricardo lives in the San Francisco area, and runs Motomacondo. He doesn't have a car, since he prefers motorcycles. He often needs to go and pickup or deliver consignments, and the only way he can do it, is stack stuff on his motorcycle !
On top of that, he's a passionate bicyclist, and often needs to bring his bicycles, so he's adapted his motorcycle to carry his bikes.
Can you imagine riding around with this on your back...looks at the photos below and judge yourself...
Everything but the kitchen sink gets loaded.
Even his KTM is used. But not as much as the workhorse.. the BMW:

So if you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, and you see a motorcycle stacked with cargo and/or bicycles, chances are it's Ricardo Kuhn. Give him a wave, and get out of his way..... we should be seeing more from Ricardo on these pages shortly as he as promised to write some interesting "how-to" articles, like his first one some time ago {link}.

Not bad - for a non-Vietnamese! I live in Hanoi, Vietnam and see lots of bikes loaded down with pigs, dogs, stuff, stuff, and more stuff! I remember seeing a bed matress going down the road on the back of a 125 something, which is one way to make sure you take up "your side of the road."

Makes me wish I'd taken a picture the night I brought home that "It's below cost, how can I not buy it?" home theater system. And I used the bike for everything but the iron-bound steamer trunk and the 9 drawer dresser the last time I moved. I love my 2wheeled German pickup truck, and the pointing and staring of the people in the parking lot of HomeDepot and Costco. Though I wish that their reaction was "wow, motorcycles are more practical as a day-to-day vehicle than I thought, maybe I should look into getting one for myself" instead of "wow, that guy's nuts."
